I have a medical product/service to offer, where do you start to gain insurance coverage?
Q. I am working on a product/service that will provide valuable patient information to doctors and aid in patient care, improved quality of life for patients, provide for better management of medication, etc. We would like to keep the service cost very reasonable and affordable ...but would like to see about getting this service setup to be a service covered by insurance companies. Where do you start?

A. I'm not understanding what this is. Is this something you're selling to a DOCTOR, but you want my insurance to cover the cost that you're selling it to the doctor for? That's never going to happen. In order to get insurance to cover it, it has to be 'medically necessary'. You'll have to get it past the experimental phase, before insurance companies will even consider it. Sounds like some kind of computer database tracking device, maybe tailored to each person. Even if it's incredibly convenient, It's NOT direct medicare care, and you'll have a darned hard time EVER getting insurance to cover it. You START, by trying to market directly to doctors, give them free samples, to see how much their patients really like it. You need… [cont.]

How do Internet service providers track what you download?
Q. I've heard of people getting letters in the mail from their service providers about copyright infringement, likely the result of something they downloaded. How do service providers track this? Is there anyway to stop them from tracking this? I don't like that some company is keeping tabs on everything I download.

A. The service provider doesn't really track it. The way you get busted is like this: 1) You connect to a public file sharing service like Limewire. When you download a song you connect to one or more users for the file. If you've used limewire then you see the IP# of the users you are connected to. 2) A user from the record company will randomly jump in and be one of the persons you are downloading from. He then writes down your IP# and the time/date. Or he might not be sharing it, he might just choose a song name and try to download it himself. Every user that he is getting the file from, he will write down all the IP#'s he sees 3) Part of the Digital Millenium act allows record companies to subponea the records of your ISP when… [cont.]

How do I properly ground and bond an Electric Service to a house?
Q. I have an electric service where the water pipe is 20 feet away from the service. I always believed that it goes Bond first then Ground Rod. That would mean the ground rod would be 20 feet away from the meter box. I don't feel right aboput putting the rod so far from the meter. Can I ground the service to the rod at the service and then do the water bond seperately by running a wire from the water pipe to the service panel which is closer to the water pipe?

A. As a master electrician in kansas, i will tell you the code and this code is by the 2008 National Electrical Code, it works every where. The main bonding of your electrical service shall be bonded up to 7 times and the ground rod is the last way to bond your service. Im not saying it is the least desirable, it just so happens to be the last way it should be bonded it all other means can not be obtained. You should take a copper wire fron your electrical panel to your cold water line, use an approved cold water clamp on the water line within 5ft of it entering the house or before the first connection(coupling, connector, 90 degree) The other end of your bare copper wire goes under your ground bar screw. Then take another bare copper wire… [cont.]

We are combining 4 electrical services into 1. What size should the final service and meter be?
Q. Want to reduce the number of accounts and service charges that come with them. There is currently a 30amp, a 100amp and two 400amp services for the building but we don't need that kind of capacity. We are using an average of 34,000kWh per month or a maximum of 48,000kWh. Any clues?

What would cause my service brake alarm to go off when I turn my steering wheel to the left?
Q. I drive a 2006 Monte Carlo and have been having some alarms for service brake system and service traction system going off.I have noticed that this only happens when I turn left. What could this be?Thanks.

A. Something could be wrong with steering mechs. or with the wheel hub. Hitting a curb or pothole usually causes this. I would jack up the front end and check all connections to the wheels.

Is there a professional resume writing service in the Nashville area?
Q. I need to consult a service that specializes in writing top notch resumes. I have searched using Google and have not found anything. I need a resume written for an executive, professional, or C-level position. If there are online services (or even a free service) that do this, let me know that as well.
Asked by Jonathan B - Sun Mar 9 00:28:15 2008 - - 1 Answers - 2 Comments
A. My biggest advice is to NOT use those companies. They charge you a few hundred dollars, and honestly, they create the worst, hardest to read resumes, which will probably hinder your job search. I appreciate you are busy, but you will get that much more value out of just writing the resume yourself. In all honesty, the content of the resume is more important than the format. Regardless of how much you earn, you can still use a standard word template (in fact I would actually strongly suggest you do), with as little ruffles and lace as possible! Clean lines and not clutter. As content is most important, do you really think it makes any sense that you trust someone who has not done your job to write up your resume? Also, I see too… [cont.]

What type of community service looks good on college applications?
Q. Everything I'm reading about college admissions says that community service plays a huge role, and that colleges want to see something that really makes you stand out. My daughter is a sophomore in high school now and has done nothing in that area, so she needs to get started. What are some ideas for community service that will look good on her application? We really have no clue here! So what are some examples of "real service?"

A. I would say going to help the elderly at a nursing home, especially those who have no one coming to visit. And help cleaning up the community. Or serving at a local soup kitchen. Maybe so tutoring Those are a few I think would be so impressive. Good Luck! I hope I have helped.

What is a good service to use to sell your photographic prints online?
Q. What is a good online service to use to sell your photographic prints. Some of the features that I look for: 1. Upload of images (high-res) is easy and reliable 2. I get most of the money from selling the print (>65%) 3. I have my online store front 4. I can set my own prices. 5. The service prints the photo and ships it to the buyer 6. They should print any size photos (including panoramic prints)

A. With Smug Mug, you'll have to pay for an annual service, but after a wedding or two it'll pay for itself. You can do everything you mentioned in your list of 6 options and you'll be very pleased with the print quality. One feature I like especially is the option of printing a special message on the back of the prints. I share a Smug Mug account with a group of about 6 photographers (GuyBehindtheCamera) and I've seriously considered moving my photos to my own SmugMug exclusively. If you do decide to use SmugMug, look around for a discount code -at one point it was "flickr", but I'm sure there's another one now. Good luck with whatever you choose :)

Community Service Ideas with which I can practice Management skills?
Q. I am in a management class at a university. One of the assignment is to form a group with classmates and do some community service with which we can practice our management skills such as planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling. We have 5 members in our team. Any good ideas?
Asked by Gabriel J - Wed Jun 18 19:25:33 2008 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Matching volunteers, including yourselves, to needs in your community would be a good way; most areas have nothing like a clearing house. for people or products. (Money-raising activities are, sorry, a dime a dozen.) You could also volunteer with smaller community service agencies to trouble-shoot their logistical bottlenecks. A transportation system to get willing volunteers to the places that need their help is a need in most towns.

A. Mass transit, mass transit information and bike lanes *everywhere*. I would like to be able to walk up to any bus stop and be able to tell by looking at the posted information exactly what I need to do to get to where I need to go. I would like for buses to come every 20 minutes (three times an hour). And I would like to be able to ride my bike on any road safely. Actually, that's how it is here in Germany -- I wish it was that way in the USA. It not only makes my life easier, but keeps the air clean!

Typically how long does it take a credit monitoring service to discover changes made on an account? To my knowledge they only work with one bureau, not all three. I have not called them because I want to see if they ever notify me. If not, I'm closing the service and requesting a refund. Also, is there a service which provides daily updates from all 3 credit bureaus?

A. The credit reporting monitoring service will usually notify you of activity in a short time frame say 24 to 48 hours, check the FAQ on the credit bureau monitoring service where you signed up. A new account can take 60 to 90 days to appear on your credit report. Many lenders submit there updates from the prior month in the first week of the new month.

How do you get wireless internet service so you can use internet on laptop away from home?
Q. What are my options for using laptop away from home and having internet service to do so? Do i subscribe to a certain service? How does this work? I know have dsl with a desk top but don't have the laptop service and not sure how that works i ordered a laptop with a wireless card.

A. Yes you have to subscribe to a service that has coverage in the area you want to use the laptop. Check with providers like www.Clearwire.com or Verizon Wireless or SprintPCS. All provide that wireless service. Once you subscribe, the service provider can instruct you on how to use their service. Also, if you are in an area with wifi hot spots, you could use those for internet service as well. Most likely it will be places like coffee shops, or bread stores (Like Panera). Of course, you would be limited to their operating hours. Good luck!
