what is cms software and website template of Cnet?
Q. I want to know what cms software does cnet.com uses to manage the website and also want to know whether I can use and develop and equivalent website using wordpress blog hosted separately

A. I am not entirely sure, but it looks like it is a custom built solution. Chances are high that the amount of data that site handles is so plentiful that a custom solution was required. Also, it likely requires a nice bit of effort to enter information and manage the site (for example, the featured carousel on the front page). Could something like the CNET.com Web site be accomplished within WordPress? Well, it probably could, but it would be painfully difficult and almost impractical. First off, CNET likely employs various content types that allow the site to be changed dynamically depending on the type of content entered. In other words, CNET's data is, in all likelihood, structured. You would need to make heavy use of custom fields,… [cont.]
